General Electric - One More Giant Leap
This is a spec ad. Wait, what!? Why the h*ck is there a spec ad in your portfolio? Are you still a student or something?
Let me explain. Even thought this is a spec ad, I still feel like this represents some of my best work and the kind of work that I get excited about.
My two friends and I really wanted to make something good, something beautiful, something we believed in, and maybe even something that could get us hired. So we wrote, pitched, took out loans, got discounts, called in favors, and convinced the School of Communications and the Film Program at our University to help us out. It was crazy, we felt like Nick Fury assembling the Avengers, and it turned out pretty good. The School of Communications even helped us submit it into a bunch of student award shows and it won a lot of stuff, like an Emmy, some ADC cubes (2 gold & 2 silvers), 3 Clios, a gold Telly, and the “Best in Show” from the AAF.
The Idea: Our dream was once to put a man on the moon, now our promise is to put a woman on mars.
Overcoming more obstacles than just escape velocity, astrophysics, and 33.9 million miles of space, we should be working to overcome bigger obstacles for women here on earth.
My Favorite Thing: Casting my little sister in the spot.
