The Philadelphia Flyer’s mascot, Gritty, is an internet phenomenon. Love him or hate him, you’ve definitely heard of him, and if you’ve been to a Flyers game, you might have even seen his home base.

Yes, this is a real thing. Next time you’re in Philly, make sure to check out the Gritty Command Center. This project was great because they basically wanted us to come up with crazy, zany, ridiculous stuff, which was kind of perfect for me. I sleep well at night knowing that Hockey’s dumbest mascot has his own line of stinky cologne.

The Problem: Combat decreasing home game attendance.

The Ask: Create a memorable fan interaction with Gritty inside the area.

I was not the lead on this project, but was on the team that came up with the ideas for the C.O.M.M.A.N.D. Center.

My Favorite Thing: Actually making “Gritty by Gritty” (An anti-Cologne) and “Grit Pits” (Where fans could get their arm pit hair dyed orange).
